Want to know the best Christmas present of all times? Chocolate. That is a fact. Look it up. Since everyone loves to get chocolate {and people who don’t can’t be trusted}, all you have to do is find a Christmas-y way to package it. Boom! Insta-gift. And, wouldn’t you know it, I’ve got you covered; these reindeer chocolate bars go together in a snap, and make the perfect gift that little hands can assemble and give away.
You’ll need:
- Brown, red, black and white paper
- Candy bars {flatter and wider work better, so I chose king-sized}
- Brown pipe cleaners
- Tape
- Glue stick
- Self-adhesive googly eyes
Directions:
Start by wrapping the candy bars with the brown paper {exactly like you’re wrapping a present}. Make sure to do all of your taping on one side of the candy bar, so that you have a nice tape-less side to use as the reindeer’s face. Cut a circle for the base of the nose out of the black construction paper. Cut a semi-circle with scalloped edges of our the black paper for the forehead {see pictures}. Cut a smaller red circle for the nose out of the red construction paper.
Now, it’s assembly time: Glue down the black circle for the nose. Glue the red circle on top of that {make sure it is centered on the black circle so that both colors are visible–again, see pictures}. Stick the googly eyes on. Glue down the forehead scalloped semi-circle above the eyes–so that the straight portion of the the semi-circle is flush with the top of the candy bar. Now shape your pipe cleaners into antlers and tape them onto the back side of the candy bar.
Finally, resist the urge to disassemble all of your work and eat the chocolate.
Candy bar reindeer: because DIY should be edible and take mere minutes.
