The beauty of being a blogger is that I have a platform to share whatever noteworthy topic that pops into my head. Sometimes, the crazy stories I come across on the inter-web or the random thoughts that pop into my mind aren’t really noteworthy at all {on their own}. They usually make me pause, laugh, or just plain roll my eyes and I go on about my day. So, without further ado, here’s this week’s edition of Random Goodness from Around the Web:
I hate that disasters have to happen for us to truly appreciate the good in people. Maybe we recognize it more during tragedies because it’s typically more public. Regardless, I love to see the good. Like in this story. The unprecedented California fires have been devastating this year but some lovely souls were determined to make lemonade out of lemons. Delicious New Chapters, is working to gather donated cookbooks to restore at least some of the books lost to the fires. Cookbooks aren’t even something I would ever think about grabbing on the way out but I use some of mine on the daily and I would certainly feel a bit lost without them. If you think that sounds like a pretty awesome thing they are doing to restore some semblance of normal to those affected by he fires, you can contribute to this relief in two ways. From now until April 4th, donations of cookbooks in English or Spanish in VERY GOOD condition may be dropped off at ten locations in California wine country. You can find these sites on the Delicious New Chapters website or Facebook page.
You can also mail cookbooks to:

The Officer and the is a Gentleman
I just love this story about a police officer tickling the ivories in uniform to put a sweet 93-year-old theft victim at ease! After responding to a call about a theft, the officer spotted a piano at the home in England. The little old man was tickled pink when the officer started playing {his reaction is so fun!}. You can see the officer playing some classical tunes for the retiree in a heartwarming video that the Mansfield Police shared to Facebook. And the officer isn’t too shabby either!
Patrick Swayze Would Be Proud!
Since so many people watch the Super Bowl just for the commercials, I thought I’d share one of my very favorite from this year. I thought it was so creative and hilarious. I laugh every time I re-watch it. And it totally makes me wonder how many days of practice it took to get those dance moves down. 😉 Which one was your favorite?
Speaking of things that never stop being funny, I stumbled upon this product again on Amazon today and laughed all over again. I’m not really in the habit of recommending you have milk shipped from Amazon, but if you do nothing else productive with your day today, head on over and read the reviews on this Tuscan Milk. It’ll make your morning.
And that concludes this installment of Random Goodness from Around the Web. Please make sure to leave your random responses in the comment section.

the milk!!!! LOL!!!! even the legal disclaimer says, “do not drink”…oh my goodness, you can’t make this stuff up!!! but the questions and answers are downright hilarious!
Praying for your safety in travels over the next couple days! Will “wave” as you go thru Wisconsin :-). If you were coming further north, i’d send you to “The Toad House” bakery in Ladysmith, and the “Hayward Bakery and Cheese shop” in Hayward. Wish I were familiar with Eau Claire to recommend you one there, but having just moved to this area, i’m not! LynneinWI

I’m so confused about what is going on with that milk! Aside from the obvious issue, $185? Is the whole thing a joke, or do they ship it in some super expensive refrigerated way…but if that is the case why does the legal disclaimer say “do not drink?” So many questions.

Oh Mavis!
Thank you solo much for showing us the piano-playing officer. I needed a good cry. So many people just see “another old man,” but he saw an elderly human with fear and took compassion on him. Oh that was simply lovely!

Mavis,
Please make sure to tell people that if they mail cookbooks they can do so using “media mail” which is a very inexpensive way to mail books, DVDs, etc. if someone mailed 3-4 cookbooks it would probably cost between $5 and $10, which is a cheap way to help someone!

As Giants fans, the Dirty Dancing commercial was our favorite, along with E-trades DJ Nanna. Btw- it supposedly only took 2 days of rehearsal and shooting. The choreographer from Hamilton said she was impressed with how quickly they learned, retained and took direction. We are hoping they’ll do this as a touchdown dance next season. Safe travels and I look forward to welcoming you to the East Coast!
