The beauty of being a blogger is that I have a platform to share whatever noteworthy topic that pops into my head. Sometimes, the crazy stories I come across on the inter-web or the random thoughts that pop into my mind aren’t really noteworthy at all {on their own}. They usually make me pause, laugh, or just plain roll my eyes and I go on about my day.
So, without further ado, here’s this weeks edition of Random Goodness from Around the Web:
Her Daddy Couldn’t Walk Her Down the Aisle, So This Stranger Did
I’m in love with this random story. A girl’s father is murdered. He was an organ donor. A man on death’s door receives his heart. 10 years later, that little girl is getting married and without a father to call on, asks the man who received his heart to walk her down the aisle. He agrees and the tears ensue. Seriously, how sweet is that?
I’m not sure if you guys have been uncharacteristically glued to your TVs watching the Olympics these past 2 weeks, but if you read about or watch nothing else about the Olympics, read this story. It’s the most heartwarming story about 2 runners in the 5,000 meter prelims. A freak fall resulted in a fall to both of these women, and what comes after just makes me smile, and makes me love that the Olympics connect all of these incredible athletes in the coolest ways. Did you hear about this story? Did you love it as much as I did?
My Favorite Kid on Earth
This kid pretty much sums up everything right with this world. If I could bottle that laugh and spread it across the country, I think we’d see some huge changes. I mean, you can’t watch that video and not crack up. I seriously love this little dude!
Dear Oreo, You’ve Gone Too Far
I’m loving these random Oreo flavors just as much as the next guy, but this. This combo makes me want to throw up a little in my mouth. Swedish Fish Oreos? It’s a thing and it makes my stomach churn. What do you think? Delicious? Can’t wait to buy some?
And that concludes this installment of Random Goodness from Around the Web. Please make sure to leave your random responses in the comment section.

I tear up everytime i see the story of the man with her Dad’s heart walk her down the aisle.
I watched that happen on the olympics – i felt as proud as her parents must feel for stopping and helping her. That story also brings tears to my eyes. Her parents raised her well.
I love little kids laughs. who could ever be in a bad mood hearing a laugh like that.

Those Swedish fish are a type of candy, not real fish!
Mavis says
Yep. I love the candy, I just can’t wrap my brain around that flavor Oreo. Sounds so gross to me.
Monique says
Because I quite ‘get’ this combination and these being European candies that I’ve only ever seen for sale in the US in Ikea I thought maybe you seriously thought this was some weird fish-flavored Oreo. Sorry to be patronizing!!
Mavis says
Not patronizing at all. It gave me a good giggle thinking about fish flavored Oreos. Ha!
