The beauty of being a blogger is that I have a platform to share whatever noteworthy topic that pops into my head. Sometimes, the crazy stories I come across on the inter-web or the random thoughts that pop into my mind aren’t really noteworthy at all {on their own}. They usually make me pause, laugh, or just plain roll my eyes and I go on about my day.
So, without further ado, here’s this weeks edition of Random Goodness from Around the Web:
Love Is In the Air, Courtesy of Mail Odor Dating
Watch out E-Harmony, there’s a new matchmaker in town, albeit a super duper disgusting one. Smell Dating matches people based on how you smell. Seriously. You sniff people’s true scent and then the belief is, if you’re attracted to their scent, you’re a match made in smell heaven. They send you a t-shirt and you wear the shirt for three days and three nights without deodorant {GAG!}.
You return the shirt to them in a prepaid envelope and they send you swatches of t-shirts worn by others. You smell the samples and tell them who you like. If someone whose smell you like likes the smell of you too, they’ll facilitate an exchange of contact information and you can ride off into the smelly sunset together!
We’re super visual creatures! One New Yorker is going to use that to his advantage to bring awareness to the amount of trash we generate each month:
“For one month, Rob Greenfield is going to live like the average American. He’ll eat, shop, and consume just like the average American which produces 4.5 pounds of trash per day. The catch? He has to wear every piece of trash he creates. That’s over 30 pounds of trash on his body by the end of the first week and nearly 140 pounds by the end of the month (almost his body weight)! Every coffee cup, plastic bag, pizza box, every single piece of trash he creates will be on his body, everywhere he goes.”
I for one am super curious to see how this goes and if he can maneuver with all that trash come month end!
The Most Moving Rendition of the ABCs Ever!
Somebody get this girl an agent. Seriously, have you ever heard a better version of this song? So much emotion from something so very tiny!! I loved it so much I had to keep replaying it!! This kid has gumption!
Is Amazon Trying to Tell Me Something?
I was looking up something on Amazon the other day. You know how Amazon will occasionally suggest random things for you while shopping? Guess what combo it suggested? A jumbo bag of peanut M&Ms paired with a jumbo sized thing of Clorox Disinfecting Wipes. Together. Like they are assuming that I’m going to eat those M&Ms so sloppily and in such haste that I leave a wake of chocolatey destruction that requires a mega size thing of wipes. Perhaps Amazon knows me better than I thought. Hmmm.
And that concludes this installment of Random Goodness from Around the Web. Please make sure to leave your random responses in the comment section.
