I never thought there would come a day when I would say this but… I ate cauliflower this afternoon. And I liked it. I want to give a hug thank you to Allison who suggested I make hummus with the free cauliflower I scored last week. HUMMUS CAULIFLOWER! Who knew? Seriously, this stuff is really, really tasty. And it’s good for you too. Lets just hope there will be some left for the Handsome Husband when he gets home from work this afternoon.
Adapted from a Cave Woman recipe
Ingredients
One large head of cauliflower, steamed
6 cloves of fresh garlic, minced
2 tablespoons tahini sauce {Vitacost sells it}
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/4 cup olive oil
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
Directions
Place everything in a blender and puree. Serve with pita chips or fresh vegetables.

You are awesome! I eat low carb for my diabetes and am always looking for new cauliflower recipes. Also loved the tip on ordering the photo canvas…great father’s day gift and I’m going to order one. Hope you get brownie points since I linked from your site.
Also appreciate your free Kindle book links and your chicken raising adventures. I’m learning more about it this year and plan to raise chickens (for eggs, not to butcher) next year. I’m trying to get my son to build a coop out of some lumber from buildings we tore down. Thanks so much for your blog…keep up the great work

A little late, but Winco carries tahini too, right on the shelf with the peanut butter! It’s in a jar, just like peanut butter too. Much easier than the can. I had to ask all over town for it. I also had a hard time finding their pita bread, which they keep near the deli.
This recipe uses so much less tahini than I do! Maybe I over-do it. My family loves tahini sauce in hummus and with falafel.
I don’t mean to be a stickler, but tahini sauce is what you get after you make the sauce for falafel, not what comes in the can or jar. The product is just called tahini paste, or just plain sesame seed paste. If you buy ready made tahini you won’t have to add the lemon juice, garlic, oil, etc.

This looks really good. Is there something else I can substitute for tahini, or do you think the recipe would even be fine without it? I’m pretty sure I have a sesame allergy and don’t want to use it.
Thanks for sharing the recipe!

Hmm, I’m not sure I have always use tahini sauce.
