I noticed an ad in the paper, Fresh Green Beans $1.49 a lb and I decided right then and there I had to buy them. It was as if the beans were begging me to take them away from the store. Do fresh vegetables ever talk to YOU?
Maybe I’m just going crazy. Or perhaps this was this first sign I am a vegetable whisperer. Whatever the case may be, these sauteed garlic beans were good. You should try them. Soon. Before you go crazy and Q-Tips from the Target ad start to haunt you in your sleep.
10 oz Fresh Green Beans
3 Cloves of Garlic {minced}
2 tablespoons Organic Olive Oil
Salt & Pepper to taste
Saute green beans in olive oil over medium heat until cooked {about 2-3 minutes}. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant {about 1 minute}. Season with salt and pepper and serve.

I hope green beans are on your “to grow” list this year. We’ve been eating them 3-4 times a week for the last few weeks. We must get on a kick for cetain veggies. You know you are a rock star cook when your 16 yr old tells you the green beans from the garden are the best he’s ever eaten and asks for them again. Her’es wishing you luck for a bumper crop summer 2012!!!!

Oh Robin yes we will be growing beans. As I’m sure you know, anytime you get a compliment from a teenager {especially about food} it is a huge deal. 🙂 Way to go Mom!
