If you are like me, you probably have a husband who has never used an iron before in his life. Why? Because why take the time to pull the iron out and set up the ironing board when you can just pull out another shirt and wait for your wife to fix the problem. 😉
Well, don’t tell the HH, but I don’t get the iron out very often either. I prefer cheater methods–and with so many of the fabrics being wrinkle resistant these day, cheating works like a charm.
When I need a quick wrinkle relaxer, I toss the shirt, pants, cape…whatever into the dryer along with 2 ice cubes. I dry it for five minutes and presto! wrinkle free magic. I don’t have to lug out the ironing board and then wait around for the iron to heat up…and then cool, and the HH goes to work pressed and professional. I am not saying I am a homemaking wizard, but let’s face it, this one is about as close as it gets.
**If you don’t want to try the ice cube trick, you can always wet a washcloth and toss it in the dryer with the wrinkly culprit. You can also spray the clothing with a water bottle, smooth with your hands, and then hang to dry. However you choose, the point is to avoid setting up the ironing board at all costs. Ha!

LOL, I thought I was the only one that did this with my husbands dress shirts. I just use the spray bottle method, but I am going to have to try ice cubes next time.

An ice cube! I’ve never heard of that. I’ll have to give that a go next time I have wrinkly clothes.

I avoid ironing at all costs. I’ve tossed shirts in the dryer before, but not with an ice cube. I’m totally trying it next time!

This is, quite possibly, the BEST tip EVER. I am NOT a fan of ironing!

I was the only one who ironed growing up, my Mom avoided it like the plague!! I’ve been using the dryer method for years, but will have to try the ice cube trick,

My sis uses the wash rag. Never heard of the ice cube, but will try it. I use Joy Mangano’s My Little Steamer from Home Shopping Network, HSN.com. They have sold millions and millions. Got son one for his white dress shirts for work. If you get one, you will love it and give one to each of The Girl’s friends for graduation to take to college.

What is an ice cube tray?

I use Mary Ellen’s I Hate Ironing! It is a spray – hang the clothing item, spray and use your hand to smooth the wrinkles, let dry. Magical!! I live in an apartment with no washer/dryer so this is the BEST solution. Get it at your local fabric store. Works on T shirts, cotton/polyester, slacks, jeans, etc. If there is a wrinkle when I come home from doing my laundry, I spray then and the clothing is dry when I need to wear it.

What about the collar and the button area? Do they get “De-Wrinkled”? That is what I have a problem with the most. Around the shoulders, collar and down the front button area on both sides. That is what I end up ironing the most.
