If you’re struggling to get a good night’s sleep, you can learn a thing or two from your kids! I read an article with a ton of helpful tips that pretty much says, sleep like a child! It basically explains that some of the best tips to getting great sleep are to mimic the actions and sleep routines of young kids. They suggest the following childish behavior:
Read a Bedtime Story: I can usually only get about 5 minutes into a book before I need to turn off the light.
Play Outside: Think they include gardening or is that not strenuous enough?!
Eat Your Veggies: Don’t overeat, don’t eat too much sugar or caffeine and eat healthy well-balanced meals!
Get Your Coloring On: Adult coloring books are a thing now. It’s a mindless activity that calms the brain.
Go to Sleep When You’re Tired: Listen to your body and respect what it’s saying to you {although, sometimes it’s simply not possible to abide by this!}.
Don’t Sleep In: “Wake up each day ― including weekends and holidays ― at the same time, and you’ll find yourself getting reliably sleepy about 18 hours later!”
What do you think? Should we sleep like babies to sleep like a baby? Do you have any additional tips?
Sleep tight,
Mavis

Turn your temperature down at night. You sleep better in cooler temperatures.

Turn off you computers, smart phones and tablets at least an hour before bed time and turn down the lights. I read an article that stated your brain views the light from electronics as sunlight and there for can make it difficult to go to sleep.

You’ll get sleepy 18 hours later? Well, yeah, if you only sleep 6 hours, sure!
I don’t know any six year old who gets 6 hours of sleep.
My four year old gets 10.
