In addition to trying out 2 new freezer meal recipes {not pictured} and packing daily lunches for work, it was business as usual around our place. I wasn’t expecting to spend as much as I did this past week but oh well. I think I’m done stressing myself out about our grocery budget and staying on target this year. Life, it happens.
Bakery Outlet $15.98
We were all out of bread so I swung by the bakery outlet and stocked up on bread 4 for $5 and Bear Creek soup mixes for $2.99 each. I LOVE the creamy potato.
Albertsons $7.92
Eggs were on sale {with coupon} for $0.99 and yogurt was on sale 3 for $1 {but for some reason rang up 3 for $0.97.}
Albertsons $3.96
More yogurt. 😉
Fred Meyer $2.99
In addition to the friday freebies I told you about yesterday I was able to snag pasta for $.50 each thanks to a Fred Meyer ecoupon and Rits for $1.99.
Costco $101.73
I was there to spend my rebate check on wine and cheese for my parents annual gift basket and figured I might as well stock up on a few essentials to get us through the end of the month without having to go to the grocery store again. I’ll still pop in once for milk and my friday freebies… but other than that, I think I’m done.
Trader Joe’s $9.97
My mom is still recovering from foot surgery so The Girl and I took her shopping again at her favorite store: Trader Joe’s. Our Costco doesn’t have their Meyer lemons in yet so I picked up 7 for $2.99, 6 itty bitty avocados for $2.99 and some Winter Wassail for a treat. Have you tried the Winter Wassail? Is it as good as I think it will be?
Monkey Munch… or Muddy Buddies…
A huge container of pork fried rice for the freezer. This is one of Monkey Boy’s favorite things.
Roasted veggies.
Green beans and salmon. Soooooo yummy.
Ever since The Grand Tour started we’ve spent every friday night as a family munching on a party platter and watching all the shenanigans. We all agree that the British trio has finally found their groove and the show {minus the Stig} is just as fun as the old one. I hope at some point though…. a celebrity will actually make it to the tent for an interview. 😉
The Girl Who Doesn’t Want to be Photographed, my parents and I went to lunch at our favorite spot {Purple Cafe} last week and it was magical as usual. The Girl and I love getting tea there because it comes with it’s own tea infuser {like this one} and it makes drinking the tea extra special.
I tried the kobe roast beef dip for the first time and it was so tasty… I need to find a recipe for au jus. Anyone have a good recipe they’d like to share? I’d love to make it for the boys.
How did you do on your grocery shopping this week? Find any good deals?
