I headed out to Albertsons early this morning so I could grab some free cranberries, and while I was there I also picked up a few other items. The Beech-Nut Baby Cereal and Stove Top Stuffing is for a donation and the Luden’s cough drops will come in handy this winter. All in all I think I did pretty good for only having spent $0.30 out of pocket.
I do think there are a lot of great deals to use with doublers this weekend, but it’s mostly for stuff we wouldn’t eat. I’m trying really hard these days to buy the least amount of processed food as I can, and use what we harvested from the garden this summer instead.
It’s not always easy, but I know it’s the best thing for my family.

I *try* not to overdo it on processed foods — but when you have two little ones (3 & 1) it’s SO hard… It’s very discouraging (& frustrating!) when you work so hard to make them a nutritious, yummy meal…. & they end up with either PB&J or hot dogs because they wasted what you made >_< (Some might say, "let them starve!" — but personally, I like sleep. And they'll wake up at 2am screaming & screaming & screaming until they have something in their stomach)
Anyway, I got 4 boxes of Rozoni Healthy Harvest spaghetti, 2 bags of Ore-Ida french fries & 2 bags of Ore-Idea tator tots, 1 bag of Ocean Spray cranberries, 4 cans of Bumblebee tuna, 4 of the Cambell's Skillet sauces, 4 Buddig Wafer Thin lunch meat (for dry-beef & gravy), 2 Stove Tops & 4 cans of Dole Pineapple
Broken up over 5 transactions, in the end I spent: $8.61 total & have $3 in CATs to use on my BIG trip (that'll include Thanksgiving turkey, the household milk/bread/eggs necassities & a few baking items to prepare for the season next month)

I’m surprised I don’t see any Campbell’s skillet sauces since they are a money maker! 🙂

I haven’t picked up my order yet – I have the Campbell’s stuff (should make $10 on my order) and then I also did the noodle soup cups for free. The stuffing I got last week for free, and the cranberries I got elsewhere for free too. Not a lot of things this week really. That’s the beauty of the stockpile is when there are not a lot of things to get for free or cheap, you don’t really need anything besides milk anyhow.

haven’t gone yet but plan on getting pineapple, olives, olive oil & sour cream

Ricola cough drops, not Ludens, right?

I did 2 bags of cranberries, 2 Campbell’s skillet sauces, 2 boxes chicken stock, 2 creamers and 9 cans of pineapple for 2.99 and have $2 in catalinas left.

This book has a good Cranberry Bread recipe. (At least that is what I am told I do not like it.) I make it every year for my sis-in-law.

I spent $2.49, have one $0.75 catalina left and managed to not get any processed food (except for one item)! 6 cartons broth, 1 bag cranberries, 2 tubs gold-n-soft margarine, 1 bottle olive oil, 2 cans tuna, 2 Healthy Choice dinners, 2 minute maid OJ, 2 Glade oil warmers, 5 onions, and 1 head garlic.
I think I’ll pick up 3 more papers and go back and get :
2 campbells skillet sauce, 1 more olive oil, and 2 more cartons broth, one Muir tomato sauce, and $3 of ?? to use up the last catalinas.
