These cute little candy cane reindeer are perfect for little hands. The kids can put them together almost entirely by themselves, and then give them out as Christmas gifts. It allows them to participate in the season–and you get to mark “spend quality time with the kids” off your holiday to-do list.
I posted a how-to on these a couple of years ago, but wanted to showcase them again.
You’ll Need:
- Brown yarn
- Googly eyes
- Small red or black pompom
- Tiny bell
- Candy canes
- Glue
- Tape
Directions:
Tape to candy canes together at the stem. Wrap the yard around the stem of the candy cane, layering it as you go, to create the reindeer. Leave about 2″ from the bottom of the stem unwrapped. When you’ve wrapped the candy canes to your liking, tuck the yarn into itself to secure.
Glue the googly onto the yard, followed by the pompom nose.
Glue the bells underneath each side of the arch of the candy canes.
No go forth and gift…
