As I mentioned this morning in my daily deal post The Home Depot is having an awesome plant and garden sale April 9th – April 12th. After spotting the sale online early this morning I dashed on over hoping to find the last 8 viburnum shrubs I needed for my front yard.
Sadly the Home Depot didn’t have viburnum shrubs on sale for $2.50 each, but they did have boxwood, azaleas, spruce, arborvitaes, and for just $2.50 each in the 1 gallon size. THIS IS A GREAT DEAL! Normally the 1 gallon size of these plants go for $6.99 each, so talk about a HUGE savings if you were planning on installing some shrubs or a hedge this year.
If you are looking for super tall arborvitae trees, The Home Depot has the 7 gallon size for $19.99.
The Home Depot also has bags for bark 5 for $10. This is a great price if you just need a few bags and are not interested in having a truckload of bark delivered .
Miracle Grow Potting soil $1.88!
Veggie Starts 5 for $10. Can you say instant garden?
On the way out I also spotted the Ames 4 cubic foot garden cart for just $19.88. This normally goes for $39.97 and has rockstar reviews on the Home Depot site. {You can order online and pick up at the store for FREE to make sure you get one}.
Oh how I love a goo garden sale.
Happy planting,
~Mavis

Hmmm. I wonder if our HD is having this sale in Colorado. It’s a little early to plant, yet. But I did want to ask a question about Blight. My Boxwood Hedge appears to have been killed by it. I’d like to replant more Boxwood there. Any tips on how to remove and replant without contaminating the new plants?

Garr. Autocorrect. My Boxwood Hedge appears to have killed by *blight*

I got an e-mail about this sale from Home Depot and was at my local store at about 10:00 a.m. this morning. They had no more garden soil available and all of the 5/$10.00 plants looked like something I would pull out of the ground and replace. The only mulch still available was red (might work in someone’s yard but not in mine). So….if you can make the time….get to the sale early. It appears, at least at my store, that supplies may be EXTREMELY limited.

Please don’t use Miracle Gro potting soil if you are growing organic or heirloom plants.

Miracle Gro has an organic line of potting soil. Just saw it at Costco for a good price.

I went to my local hd this morning (New Jersey). The sale was only for the 9th… but they didn’t take the signs down from the day before and gave me the Sale price anyway. Yay!

I went to my local HD here in Oregon last night and they had the veggie starts 5 for $10, so I got 5. I got Lemon cucumber, cherry tomato, yellow squash, pumpkin and leek starts. They had tons of selection and everything looked really good. The sale goes through today. Thanks for posting about it Mavis-I wouldn’t have known otherwise.
