I remember when The Curious Case of Benjamin Button came out almost 10 years ago. I saw the preview and thought, huh. That looks interesting. I meant to get around to watching it, but it was never at the top of my list. I heard it was good. I heard it was weird. I heard Brad Pitt did an amazing job. It’s free with your Amazon Prime account right now so I thought we’d give it a watch tonight.

The premise {in case you missed it years ago} is that an elderly man is born in a New Orleans nursing home and ages in reverse. Old to young. A pretty strange concept. I’ll let you know what I think of it, but chime in if you’ve seen it already. I’m so curious if you liked it.

Tonight the HH is joining me for movie night. Coming up with a movie we both want to see is a challenge sometimes. We both agreed we’d have to find one that was free on Amazon Prime so no money OOP. He wanted suspense; I wanted something older. He said no chick flicks; I said something with some awesome actors. We saw The Rainmaker and it fit all our criteria. I watched it years ago {we both did}, but neither of us could remember much about it except that it was based on a John Grisham novel {he’s a big fan} and that we both liked it. We’ll see if we like it after all these years!

So I love Roald Dahl. His books are simply awesome. They are crazy and fun and totally imaginative. Growing up, I loved Charlie & the Chocolate Factory {the book AND movie}. So when they released an updated version with Johnny Depp, I refused to watch it. I didn’t want to spoil perfection. BUT, at the urging of a few friends, I’m going to give it a try {plus it’s free with my Amazon Prime account and I love the little actor that stars as Charlie, so that helps!}. I have low expectations, so we shall see!

Watching this oldie but goodie tonight. Again. I’m not much of a crier, but P.S. I Love You gets me every time. Ugh it’s so good and sad and perfect. I was never a huge Hillary Swank fan until I saw this movie. She’s perfect in it. It’s a love story that get you in the feels and make you laugh and cry and all the things a good movie should. But if you hate sad movies, run away now. Don’t say I didn’t warn you! If not, go gather your tissues and get to watchin’.
