One Hundred Dollars a Month

I am your typical housewife living in high maintenance suburbia. I have a handsome husband, 2 kids and a flock of pet chickens. I try and feed my family with $100 a month. With the help of coupons, gardening and bartering I am able to squeeze the most out of our grocery budget and still manage to have a little fun along the way.

The HH and I sat down the other night and watched Deli Man. We found it very interesting. It focuses on third-generation deli owner, Ziggy Gruber. He owns a Texas delicatessen restaurant that some argue is the best in the country. The movie is basically a conversation about how these delis came to symbolize more than food–they embody so much of what is amazing about the Jewish culture. It was a good watch, and it’s free on Amazon Prime.

Friday Night at the Movies – Secrets of the Manor House

I was looking for another series that was free with Amazon Prime and I stumbled on this one. It’s a British series, called Manor House and you know how I’m a sucker for all things British. It basically shows the inner workings of large British mansions in the early 1900’s, and plays on the unbalanced wealth that lives and works there.  A handful of volunteers for signed up to work at the Manor House 24/7. I’m going to try to wrangle the HH into watching it with me. I’ll keep you posted on if we love it!

Okay, I am so excited to see this movie! The Queen’s Garden covers a year in the Buckingham Palace Garden, exploring the history and the natural beauty of this little hidden royal treasure in the heart of London. If you’ve followed me for any length of time, you know I love London and I love gardening. The two combined has all the making of an epic movie night! It’s also a freebie with Amazon Prime.

Ahhh The Wedding Singer. Love Adam Sandler or hate him, this movie is a classic. It focuses on Robbie (Adam Sandler), the wedding singer and Julia (Drew Barrymore), the waitress who are both engaged to be married but to the wrong people. I love Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore’s chemistry, plus, this movie will leave you in stitches.
