I am your typical housewife living in high maintenance suburbia. I have a handsome husband, 2 kids and a flock of pet chickens. I try and feed my family with $100 a month. With the help of coupons, gardening and bartering I am able to squeeze the most out of our grocery budget and still manage to have a little fun along the way.

Monday, Monday, Monday! It’s currently raining outside my window and I think today it’s supposed to hit 65 degrees. Tomorrow? 87. WOWZA! So, I’m thinking once the rain stops TODAY IS THE DAY to get outside and garden and tomorrow I’ll hunker down inside.

Hello Friday! A high of 85 is in the forecast for today and tomorrow. Eeek! Luckily though the temps are supposed to drop to 55 and rain on Sunday so we won’t totally melt. On the agenda for this weekend:

  • Rest my eyes. They hurt. I’m not sure if it’s because of everything is in bloom in the backyard or I’m spending too much time staring at a screen.
  • Finish flower bouquets {the wool kind}
  • Continue working on clearing the {future} corn patch
  • Laundry
  • Make a batch of scones or muffins
  • Clean, clean clean

How about YOU? Going clubbing? Hopping a flight to Paris? Scrubbing the bathtub?  Doing anything exciting this weekend? I want to hear about it!

This dog! She played in the garden ALL DAY yesterday and pretty much zonked out as soon as she came inside for the night. I don’t know where she gets her energy, but it’s great to see her rolling around in the grass, checking in on her babies and paroling the grounds everyday. I think she’s settling in to country life just fine. 😉
