One Hundred Dollars a Month

I am your typical housewife living in high maintenance suburbia. I have a handsome husband, 2 kids and a flock of pet chickens. I try and feed my family with $100 a month. With the help of coupons, gardening and bartering I am able to squeeze the most out of our grocery budget and still manage to have a little fun along the way.

Yesterday I made the mistake of taking Lucy for a walk while the garbage trucks were out collecting in the neighborhood. She LOVES to watch them roll by and then bark at them when they don’t stop to give her a cookie. In fact she will hunker down low to the ground and WILL NOT BUDGE until the truck has passed by. It’s so weird. Does your dog do this too?

That Lucy, she’s a funny one. 😉

Thanks everyone for the anniversary well wishes as well as letting us know about the forest fires in Southern Oregon. I guess we are going to have to scratch that trip for now and go another time. 🙁 Maybe we’ll start looking into plan B: the San Juan Islands.

The temps are warming up … 90 in the forecast for today {gag!} and basically high 70’s to mid 80’s the rest of the week. Oh well, I guess it’s good for the tomato and squash plants.
