If you ever find yourself in Napa Valley, California in search of the perfect supplies for a picnic lunch, I highly recommend the Oakville Grocery. Seriously, if The Barefoot Contessa or Martha Stewart owned a small grocery, this would be it. The Oakville Grocery Store is not only a great place to stop and grab a bite to eat, but it was founded in 1881 and its shelves are packed with all sorts of good stuff. Plus, there is plenty of outdoor seating and restrooms are available as well.
Not only is the place stocked with $15 jars of gourmet jam and and $20 a lb shrimp salads, but they have fresh local fruit, a fancy cheese counter and a sandwich menu that would make the eyes pop out of your head.
I’m telling you, this is not Ike Godsey’s store.
The Oakville grocery does not accept coupons, or giveaway their scraps, but it’s just the kind of place you’d want to buy lunch from if you were tagging along on a business trip with your husband. Why? Because lunch is paid for by the company… No matter where you go. Wahoo!

If you are headed to the Napa Valley, I highly recommend the MapEasy’s Guidemap to Napa/Sonoma from Amazon.com for $7.95. It’s waterproof, easy to fold and is filled with tons of great information. I own it and I think it’s great.
