Alert the media people. The Handsome Husband made dinner tonight. This was the 4th time my husband has made dinner this year. I’m not sure if he felt sorry for me because I worked in the yard all day, or if he was simply inspired by the ingredients in our refrigerator, but he did it. He made dinner.
Scrambled eggs with celery, onion and turkey with a side of 2 year old sweet potato fries from the freezer. Wowza. what an interesting combination. I didn’t have the heart to tell him I had brought the sweet potato fries in from the garage freezer to the kitchen freezer because they were old and I was planning on feeding them to the chickens tomorrow. LOL.
Has YOUR husband ever made you dinner? I bet you can’t top this one!

My husband made breakfast once. He opted to make scrambled eggs with leftover taco meat and cheese. (this is ground bee with taco seasoning) It change the color of the eggs to this wierd color and texture. The kids ate every bite…and later confessed it wasnt their favorite. LOL

Hubby makes dinner and he is amazing. I’m a baker, so we always have lots of great artisan bread around. When it gets a little stale, he makes french toast. Oh my! It’s amazing!

Mine just finished doing the dishes and is working on the laundry. How did I get so lucky?

It was just him and me for Thanksgiving this year. I went out drug store shopping in the morning and came home to find him getting the turkey ready to put in the oven. He had actually researched on the Internet how to cook it! Later, I found him cooking Stove Top stuffing and Idahoan potatoes and re-heating gravy from the freezer. He had my homemade Cranberries & Walnuts in Sherry and I had a can of jellied. Basic, but tasty enough and I really appreciated him taking care of it all. He even cleaned the roasting pan! I had to put it away, though. LOL

WOW! What a keeper!

Good job HH! Interesting choices, but I’m sure it was great!
I’m lucky b/c my hubby loves to grill and smoke meat. So once a week he makes supper- although I do get the veggies and potatoes prepped and he just throws them on with the meat…but I’ll take it!
And Mavis: great job making supper the other 361 days this year ;p

Surprisingly the eggs tasted great! 🙂

My husband makes dinner on about half the Sundays. Today was his own concoction of potato pancakes which were pretty good. Generally he makes breakfast for Sunday dinner. Right now he is making divinity. He loves divinity and I usually act as sous chef.

My hubby disapeared this afternoon saying he had to go outside. No biggie, the sun was out. My boys and I stayed in to do our Christmas decorating. After a bit my youngest went to find him to see what he was doing. It was a quick trip because DH couldn’t be easily found. Later on he came in beaming carrying a couple of filled to the brim grocery sacks and 5 gallon bucket. He explained how he had gone shopping in the neighbor’s yard (with permission) and our garden (which I thought was finished for the year). He’s busy cooking dinner right now, everything soup. We’ve politely told him that he was generous, but that could be his lunch for the week (while we eat something else). Oh well, he’s a sweetie, just a bit too culinary adventerous for my tastes.

oh and my hubby wanted to me to share some of hisgarden and yard shopping ingredients-bolite mushrooms, parsnips, kolorabi, carrots, beets, and cabbage

I love that he shops at the neighbors! 🙂

My HH makes breakfast 7 days a week and washes the pots/pans. Its either old fasioned oats or an egg scramble depending on his diet phase. We love celery scrambled with the eggs but anything goes before it goes bad. He can take a week or two to perfect a new experiment but I NEVER complain if someone takes the time to prepare a meal for me. Actually either does he. Life is good.

If my ex ever made dinner, it was inedible. He just opened cans, heated them, and dumped them on the children’s plate–all while I was ill or in the hospital. The children would come to my bed or call me in the hospital, begging me to get up or to come home because they were hungry. It seems he yelled at them and forced them to eat stuff they did not like in the form he served it. Even if I had a raging fever, I had to cook.
Oh, I forgot. He did grill when I was in the hospital ONCE, the year before I divorced him. He ruined the wooden handled grill fork by putting it in the dishwasher along with other items that did not go in the dishwasher. Plus, he washed and dried my daughters swimsuit and it just fell apart. He never did tell me how he did that.

The only time my husband made dinner was when I had the flu. He browned some hamburgar, stirred in a can of condensed vegetable soup, put it bewteen two pieces of bread and called it a hot sandwich. Puke! Like I wasn’t already sick to my stomache, ugh.

my DH is a very good cook. Actually, he is more adventurous in the kitchen than I am. He makes dinners several times a month, and once in awhile cooks breakfast. When his son was still livng with us, he would make breakfast almost every Saturday. Also, he ALWAYS cooks for Thanksgiving dinner AND Christmas. Can’t complain, I am lucky

Wow! That dinner actually looked good until I read what it was :/

I LOVE that your husband helped out!!
My husband went to culinary school before he joined the military – he is an amazing cook! I say home with the kids, so I do 99% of the cooking, but when he helps out – it is always an awesome treat. 🙂

I have to join in and say that my hubby does all the cooking at our house too. I can cook, but he is there and does it all. He is retired and I still work so our roles are somewhat reversed at home. But he fixes my lunches every day and has dinner on the table every evening. On Sundays, he loves to have a special Sunday Dinner for us and our son and his girlfriend (And sometimes friends from church!)
He is an amazing hubby and I consider myself very blessed 🙂

My dh doesn’t cook, but he spent Black Friday doing all the dishes from our formal dinner for 22. He hand washed the sterling and ran several dishwashers during the day to clean up all the mess. He soaked the 3 turkey pans and got them all clean. I am lucky. Was scrambled eggs and onion and celery good? Did he saute the celery and onions so they were cooked before he put in the eggs? I saw you bought eggs. Are the girls not laying now? I met a nice lady and her daughter on BF in line at Macys. Gave her a $10 coupon and a Kohls $10 coupon. She follows you too. We are both Mavis addicts.

Your husband is a total sweetie Helen. 🙂 I had a coupon for 1 dozen free eggs. The Girls are still laying about 3 a day. Good work sharing your coupons. 🙂
