Oh my word, I read this comment from One Hundred Dollars A Month reader Jesse {about what to do with red cabbage}, and ran outside to try it. She is a genius!
“You can drill a hole through the head of cabbage, hang it by a string from a branch about 12” higher than your chickens and watch them jump for it all day!
That is actually recommended when introducing a new bird to the flock because it keeps them all distracted.
Was that what you had in mind for using your cabbage?”
Ummm,
#1 Jesse you are awesome. Thank you for the great idea.
#2 No. I was not thinking of doing this with my cabbage… LOL.
#3 The chickens LOVED their cabbage ball.
Wahoooo! Now there is one less cabbage to eat.

Did you weigh it first? My cabbage patch kids want you to check inside and make sure their are no Kids getting pecked to death. Tomorrow my Albertsons is getting .50 off 1 Honest Tea coupons. With Round Up that will be 10 free Honest Tea and then 10 free Fuze all for tax.

I really like the Honest Tea drink… Fuze I could pass on. As for the cabbage patch kids… No, I didn’t check first. But I’m pretty sure lack Fatty would stop pecking if there was a baby inside. Squeekers and Baby Fat on the other hand are a totally different story.
