Sometimes going back to basics is best. These scones prove that. The ingredients are simple but their taste is anything but. Classic, yummy scone. I like to make these the night before and then serve them up for breakfast. Saves time in the morning and keeps us from eating cold cereal when I don’t feel like rolling out of bed and throwing on an apron! 😉

4 tablespoons butter, frozen
2 tablespoons shortening
3/4 cup heavy cream
