I was spoiled for so many year with fresh eggs from my chickens. The move and all of the transitions because of it has left me chicken-less and in a new boat: buying eggs from the store. It’s been years since I’ve had to purchase eggs, so I’m left with all these egg cartons and a mind working overtime trying to figure out how to use them {of course I’m not just going to toss them!}. Luckily, I’ve found the perfect use for them, and just in the nick of time, as Christmas tree season is upon us!
Use empty egg cartons {or plastic apple cases} to store Christmas ornaments. Just place each ornament in the carton cubby, and BOOM: the perfect storage solution! It keeps them tucked safely in the carton and also makes them quite stackable in your Christmas decorations box. So this year, when you’re ready to take down your tree, grab your empty egg cartons from the recycling bin and put them to good use. Genuis, I tell ya!

My hubby just came in to me the other day and said I wonder if we could store our ornaments in the empty egg cartons. I always wrap them in paper and store in boxes and he said there has to be a better way.

Egg cartons are free packing material for shipping merchandise for eBay sellers. Also Ruby Lane or Etsy, etc.
