If you have read this blog for any length of time I’m sure you know that I pretty much don’t like can’t sit still. Sitting still is my kryptonite. Yesterday The Girl and I left the hotel at 9:30 am and by the time we returned at 6pm, we were exhausted.
The day started with a titanium screw falling out of my jaw. I saw it as a sign the British were glad I was here. Luckily The Girl is not one bit squeamish and she was able to twist it back in. {And yes, it did hurt!}
Giant gumdrop {boxwood} hedges.
The Orangery at Kensington Palace. I soooo want to have afternoon tea here.
After a stroll around the park we went on a mission to find the Hummingbird Bakery. On our way there we passed SNOG. When we read the sign in the window “Snogging is healthy and 100% natural” we couldn’t help from giggling all the way down the street.
Mama JJ do you see all this cheese?
Breakfast.
Cherry tree in bloom.
Iconic red phone booth.By 11:32 am London time I had taken 9,162 steps.
Monkeys.
Big Ben and the Palace of Westminster.
I am soooo getting this printed on a canvas! I LOVE my Rebel Camera!
Crowds make me crazy. Apparently London children are on school holiday this week. Which is really awesome if all you want to do is look at a couple of exhibits at the Natural History Museum. Gaaaa.
Saw something in the window and decided to pop in. Then quickly decided money would rather be spent on more pastries.
Tomorrow’s headline: Woman trades car for AGA stove. Seriously, Handsome Husband, are you reading this? How cool would one of these be?
Tea and scones back in the room. We walked about 12 miles!!! Holy crackers people, that’s almost a half marathon.
Souvenirs. {Lipgloss}.
We are having a blast! Have a great weekend everyone,

Mavis, I’m loving your reports from London, as I’m headed there next week. The garden museum just got added to my list, joining a few other places you’ve mentioned along the way. Have you and The Girl checked out Groupon for London? Great deals for some nice afternoon teas and dinners you might enjoy. Have a wonderful weekend!

You’ll want to grab the Groupon deal for a canvas then! It just came into my email this morning. I know from experience, even if it isn’t offered in your city the offer is still good! My city doesn’t have any offers in-town, but I have even gotten some for online purchases from other states!
29.99 for 16×20 and free shipping.

Mavis, I am going in June. I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed your previews. Definitely will hit the Gardening Museum. So excited about Hyde Park!

I love London!! Your pics of Hyde Park took me back to a lovely afternoon back in 1992 when I strolled in that park and met up with a 90 y.o. man named Buddy. He and I sat on a bench and talked for a long time. He told me to “live life!” He said that’s exactly what he did and had no regrets.
You’re right about that pic, it’s amazing and definitely canvas-worthy. Wow.

Great pics! So glad you’re having fun. I hope you get to have tea at the orangerie.
Also, why is there no clotted cream on those scones?! 😉
