This was a great week… Not only did I get to tag along with the HH on his business trip… I stocked up on a boatload of snacks for when school starts up again. And if I’m lucky… the monkeys won’t find my hiding spot! 🙂
My favorite freebie of the week was spending the HH’s $25 a day ($75 total) “incidentals” moolah his company gave him. Do you think I spent it on magazines, coffee and chewing gum? Of course not! You know me way better than that. I decided to go crazy and spend the money on bread… cherries and apricots instead.
Oh… and a few little things from SurLaTable too. 🙂 In the end I spent $72.10 of the allotted $75. Yay for free money!
When we came home… I went out to the garden to see what I needed to pick… and the HH decided to go to the store. Guess how much he spent? $10.87! Holy Cow! Are you serious? What a nut! Clearly this man did not use a coupon.
It’s a good thing he didn’t buy fruit too…
Because he probably would of spent another $20.
2 boxes of tissues, a half gallon of coconut milk, 6 bananas and 5 carrots for .14!
How did I do it? I used a $2 of $2 Fred Meyer produce coupon, a $2 off $2 worth of toilet paper, tissue or paper plates coupon, 1 free product coupon and I also saved an additional .05 buy using my own bag.
Did you pick up your FREE bottle of Diet Dr. Pepper on Saturday at Albertsons? I did. I also picked up a free box of pasta (I used a $1.00 off Ronzoni coupon) and a FREE doughnut thanks to the Summer Sizzlin’ Sweepstakes. Plus I snagged a $5 of a $50 purchase coupon… Not that I’ll use it… but next time I’m in the store I’ll pass it along to someone who can.
I also picked up a FREE half gallon of Safeway ice cream (thanks to a Safeway ecoupon NLA) and 2 packages of dried apricots ($2.99) for only .99 cents. The apricots are currently on sale B1G1 Free plus there were $1.00 off coupons in a blinki machine next to the product. I don’t know about you… but I LOVE dried fruit!
On Sunday I spent $14.41 at Albertsons. There were a ton of great double coupon deals and for the most part I was pretty happy with what I was able to bring home. However I do realize I’m running a little over budget right now and need to pull in the reigns a bit if I’m going to reach my goal of only spending one hundreds a month for groceries this year. 🙂 Some weeks are easier than others…
Total Spent This Week $ 26.01
Total Spent Year To Date $716.46

This week (week 3) was really hard for me to stay within $25 week budget. :S I’m getting low on everything but I’ll do it. I’ve got toothpaste I can sell! ROFL>

Haha! It’s only hard in the beginning… Maybe you could eat some beans and rice until you get back on budget. 🙂
