Last Monday I picked up 13 boxes of free brownie mix and 6 pomegranates for a staggering $3 at Albertsons.
However, the most exciting part about last weeks grocery purchases was on the last day of Albertsons Double Coupons. I received a hot tip from a coupon buddy. “Mavis… Uncle Ben’s Rice and Stove Top Stuffing are on clearance… get over here!”
Combined with doublers, I was able to use 4 $1/1 coupons on the Uncle Ben’s Rice to score 4 boxes for a total of $.75. Totally reckless and expensive I know. But… there was a catalina deal running on the Uncle Ben’s rice. Buy 4 boxes get a $1.00 catalina coupon. So although I paid $.75 I got back a $1.00 catalina. Sounds like a freakin hot deal to me! Got rice? Yes, yes I do thank you for asking. I now have 4 free boxes thank you very much.
Now, I bet you are wondering how much I paid for the stuffing. C’mon… you know you want to guess. Well, I’ll tell you. I paid a big fat zero dollars for it that’s how much I paid. ZERO DOLLARS. How did I pull that one off? The stuffing was on clearance for $1.00 a box. On the inside of the package was a buy 2 boxes of stuffing & save $1.00 coupon.
So to make a long story short… I bought the first box for $1.00 using the $1.00 catalina I scored on the Uncle Ben’s rice. Opened the box, removed the stuffing and clipped the coupon from the inside of the box. Then I bought 2 more boxes using the $1.00/2 coupon plus a doubler and BAM! Free stuffing! Rinse, wash and repeat. Total paid for 4 boxes of rice and 7 boxes of stuffing? $.75 (on a gift card of course). Oh, and if that was not exciting enough… I also earned a $5 off your next order coupon at the bottom of my receipt. Sweet Mother of Coupon Goodness!
On Thursday I received 3 awesome coupons in the mail from Fred Meyer. $3 off any meat purchase, $3 off produce, and $5 off Beecher’s Flagship Cheese.
With my coupons I was able to pick up everything you see above for only $1.04 (I used a $1/1 Tribe humus coupon as well). Although the Beecher’s cheese coupon states $5 off their Flagship cheese, my store was out of that variety so they let me substitute it with Beecher’s Marco Polo cheese.
Then, with my $5 off Albertsons coupon I had earned a few days earlier, I was able to purchase everything you see above for $10.62 at Albertsons with my Albertsons gift card.
Total Spent oop this week $1.04.
Total Spent year to date: $1187.08
I now have $11.88 in cash left to spend and $15.79 left on my free Albertsons gift card I won over the summer. Holy Crap. We are getting close! So close. I hope I can hang in there.

I think it must have been a random mailing. I don’t recall ever receiving high value Fred Meyer coupons in the mail before. I wish I knew.
