Costco $16.98
Cheesecake and French bread. Does it get any better than that? The Girl was craving a cheesecake and since we were having pasta that night I went ahead and picked up Costco’s 2-pack of French bread while I was there.
Fred Meyer $1.77
3 stores later… I finally found the chipotle peppers!
I had been wanting to try a chipotle chicken soup recipe for the last two weeks and I am so glad I did. We all loved it and there were 3 servings of leftovers to pop in the freezer for the HH to take in his lunch. I’ll be adding this delicious recipe into our meal rotation, that’s for sure. {I’ll post the recipe tomorrow}
Albertsons $11.45
I stocked up on smelly bologna, white bread {barf} and cookies for the boys before I left. The bananas were for The Girl’s smoothies {we have plenty of frozen fruit in the freezer}. I find it mildly amusing the boys will eat every possible preservative filled packaged food product in the house before they’ll even consider making something to eat that involves cooking. It’s weird. The Girl on the other hand will make herself all sorts of yummy stuff. Even after all these years… I still don’t get it.
Fresh vegetables from the garden.
The Girl, teaching The Boy to make homemade raspberry jam.
A small batch of heirloom salsa. I’ll be putting up as much salsa and tomato sauce as I can as the tomatoes ripen.
I was only home for half of the week before jetting off to the east coast. I did thaw some chili from the freezer for the boys though, but that’s about it. I hope they survive.
