He bought his 16-year-old daughter a blender.
My sister (L.G.) asked if I bought her a vacuum to go with it.
I.Could.Not.Stop.Laughing. It was so funny!
Quite simply… The Handsome Husband bought her a blender because she likes to make smoothies.
As sweet as that was… In my opinion it’s still weird to give a teenager a blender for their birthday. Did she ask for a blender? No. Do you think it ever crossed her mind that she would be gifted a $400 blender at the age of 16? Or at any other point in her life? I highly doubt it.
I’m not even going to go into the fact that I cannot believe the man spent 400 freakin dollars on a blender. Nope. Not gonna go there. I won’t even make a list (and I like making lists) of all the things I could have done with that $400. No, I’ll show restraint. Just this once. Why? Because it was a gift. And it came from the heart. And she really does love smoothies.
However I will say this… If you like the sound of heavy machinery grinding at decibels so loud hearing loss is imminent…Then this is the blender for you. Holy Crap it is loud!

I never would have guessed, but dude, I am jealous!! Now what happens when she leaves the nest and the husband is attached to said blender?
Peggy says
Wow that is definitely something I would have NEVER guessed! But what an awesome blender!! The lady who runs the juice stand at the Farmer’s market uses a Blend Tec for her smoothies (yes I covet it from afar but my Bosche works just fine..)
So what did your daughter think?
Mavis says
She likes it! 🙂
Mulberry Mama says
I don’t know about your 16 year old, but if I got taht blender for my birthday, I’d be ecstatic. Aren’t husbands hilarious? 😉
Mavis says
Yes, husbands are weird.
Sue says
I think it came from the heart and that makes it great!
FrontierTater says

A Father’s heart felt gift for his sweet 16 year old princess, what a memory and story for life she now has to cherish.
Ok so the boy’s 16 is coming up in Nov. What do you get a boy who plays the guitar like a fully loaded shredding/weapon? loves to eat? Maybe his own Cuisanart? LOL Robin in SoCal
Mavis says
Hmmm… I think a Cuisanart might be the perfect gift! 😉
sodbusters says
Giggle. I can totally see my husband doing that. Well, maybe not spending the $400. He would have found a good one at the thrift store but if my daughter liked to make smoothies I can totally see him doing this.

I just had to delurk. My 10 year old daughter asked for a magic bullet 3 years running. Yes, she finally got it. I imagine that by the time she is 16 a $400 dollar blender won’t be out of the question.

Well hopefully he used ebates or a coupon or something (too bad you couldn’t get Albertson’s gift cards at bed bath)… I’m glad she loves it. We love smoothies too and I would love an awesome blender 🙂
Qathy says
